National Milk Producers Mtg in Reno, NV

Jared and I got invited to go the National Milk Producers annual meeting in Reno, Nevada this year. Cael was only 5 months old and still nursing so he got the privelge of going with us.

Reno is not my favorite place in the world. We stayed at a hotel that was basically by itself. Nothing was within walking distance so we were pretty much stuck in the hotel for 5 days. The hotel was surrounded by slot machines and drinking. We met lots of interesting people at the meetings. It is always fun to meet different dairy families and see how they do business. Their were a lot of games and Jared got to participate in a few.
One night for the entertainment the hotel set up a room just like a casino where everyone could play different games. Jared tried out a few games.
Cael wasn't so sure about Blackjack. At the end of the conference their was a nice catered banquet and Howie Long (former NFL football player) spoke which was very neat and interesting. As we were walking to the elevator Howie and his crew were right in front of us so I ran up to him and asked for a quick photo. It's kind of blury, but who cares it's Howie.
One day a couple guys from DFA and Jared and I and Cael took off and took a drive to Lake Tahoe and around Reno. Lake Tahoe is beautiful...nestled up in the mountains with a beautful beach. I wish we would have had more time there.
Cael looks like a little old man in this picture. The last night of the conference there was another fancy banquet and the band "Gloriana" played. They were really good. I ended up in the hall most of the time because it was so loud for little Cael's ears.

New Start

Ok, so I know I haven't posted in over a year but I have been thinking lately about how much I want to remember. Jared and I are at a National Milk Producers Meeting in Reno, Nevada. Baby Cael is with us and the other kids are home with family. In one of the meetings it was all about blogging. It got me thinking of my long lost blog, so I decided to get back on track.

So, I hope to post atleast once a week now. I have a lot to do play catch up. In the next couple days I will try and post some important happenings from the past year.
One quick note:

We have had Cael in our family for 5 months now and what a sweetie. He brings so much joy into our family. I am in love.

Purdums Pumpkin Patch

I got Jared to go with me to take the kids to the pumpkin patch.  I love Fall and everything that comes with it.

Of course Trenton had to find the biggest pumpkin!

Milker didn't show up for the night shift

So, the night milker decided to just not show up one evening, so guess who got to milk, Jared. This doesn't happen very often but he had a little buddy to help him out this time. I think Jared really enjoyed having Trenton out there with him. I made them dinner and brought it out to them. It was really pretty cute to see both of them working together.

This is one of my favorite pics.

Trenton Soccer

Trenton wanted to play Fall soccer this year. He really enjoyed it. A lot of his friends were on his team. Mike Burgin coached the team and is always really good with the kids.

Emma and Cael enjoying the game.

Mexico

Jared and I got to go on a trip to Mexico this year. So fun! Our 10 year anniversary is May 10, 2010. We were wanting to go on an adult only trip so this worked out perfect. We went with the girls I work with at Jay's office the end of January. I was about 5 months pregant. I had an excuse to not look perfect in a swimsuit. We went to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. We mainly did a lot of relaxing on the beach which was perfectly fine with me.
Arriving in Mexico
Jared and a few other people went on a fishing trip. They

Camping at Lost Lake

We decided we need one last summer fun trip so we went camping at Lost Lake. Needless to say everyone else had the same idea. We ended up finding a spot next to Andy and Lara Hoch (our neighbors). We set the tent up in the dark and didn't realize it was going to get so cold at night. The kids just had their little lightweight sleeping bags ...so they were freezing. We sat around the campfire and roasted hotdogs and had smores and got REALLY dirty. The kids loved it.

The lake was so beautiful in the morning when we woke up.
We rode bikes, hiked, picked huckleberries, went on a fun 4-wheeler ride and played in the creek.
Emma got tired while riding on the 4-wheeler, so she stuck her head in my jacket and fell asleep.
