A Mother's Instinct

Today was a very hard day for me. I took Emma LuJean in to the dentist I work for at 7:00 a.m. to get her lower frenulum clipped(area underneath the tongue). They put her on versed which was suppose to make her sleepy and not remember what is happening. She was kind of acting like she was drunk. The dr asked me to leave because he knew it was going to be hard for me to watch her struggling and being held down. So, I went out to my car and cleaned out my purse and tried to read a magazine but couldn't concentrate. All I could think about was how scared Emma was. Finally, they called me and said she was done. She was so happy to see me. I think she will be fine. She can stick her tongue out a little farther. It doesn't look very good right now, but I am hoping after a few days of healing, it will be what she needed. As a mother, we worry so much about our children. A lot of times mothers know just what their kids need and don't need. You don't ever want anything bad to happen to them. We took a long 3 hour nap and she woke up as happy as can be. You wouldn't have know what she went through early this morning. Emma is scheduled to go in for her first speech therapy session next Tuesday, so I am anxious to see how she does. I have to admit though I am going to miss her special little language. Below is a clip of her repeating scriptures and saying her prayers. She is so adorable when she says prayers. You usually can't understand a word but she is so proud of herself. (Don't look at all the dust on the bookshelf)
P.S. I am still trying to get my video to post.

I'm glad it went ok for Emma! Kids are so resilient. (by the way - this is Stephanie Pace, Joani's daughter - Jared's cousin)
