Taiylor Birthday '8'

For some reason I don't have very many pictures from Taiylor's birthday this year. I feel bad. I need to take more pictures. She had some of her good friends come over to our house.

35

Yep, that's right I am now 35 years old. How did I get this old? I had a great birthday. The kids were really cute and all wanted to make me something. Taiylor gave me a coupon book.

*make my bed
*do laundry
*one day of cleaning house
*putting away my laundry
*make my bed

I am super excited about the coupon book. Taiylor also made me a picture frame with a picture in it. Emma wanted to do something similar so she made me a little book about things she likes about me.

*Your very understanding
*I love to hang out with you
*I'm your little sweetheart
*I love how you dress
*Your kind

What sweet girls. Trenton wrote me a nice note on my blog. I am very blessed to have such amazing children.

Jared and I went to lunch at Brewsky's and did a few errands in town. Since I quit working I have been able to go with him a few different times and run errands. It has been kind of fun. We visit and just enjoy each others company.

My dear friend, Emilee Mclinn, and I went to the Boise mall on Saturday and did some shopping, KIDLESS. It was such a treat to be able to just relax and shop without any interruptions. She treated me to getting my nails done. It was so fun. Then Jared and Ryan met up with us later and we went to dinner and a movie. All in all it was a great birthday.

Oh, I almost forgot. Jared made me a very special gift this year. He made me a slide show of pictures of me throughout the years and put a song to it (One friend by Dan Seals) Our computer is messed up right now so he couldn't finish it but I was so touched by it. It brought tears to my eyes. I truly love my life, especially with my one true friend, Jared. We have been through a lot of things in the almost 12 years we have been married. I wouldn't want to go through any of it without him.

Quitting my job

Well, I finally did it...I quit my job. I have worked for Jay Wettstein along time. I started when Taiylor was 6 months old. Jared was trying to go to school and we really needed the money. We lived in the little trailer right next to the house we are living in now. I was so scared to leave Taiylor with a babysitter, but I found someone good. I couldn't find a job in my field (Criminology) but LuJean worked for Dr Dahle (in same office as Dr Wettstein)and she said they were looking for someone to do the front desk so I applied at got the job. I worked full time until a few months before I delivered Trenton. So, about 2 years. Then I decided I needed a break so I quit. Shortly after Trenton was born we moved to Georgia where Jared was a Superintendent for a commercial construction company. He remodeled an LDS church in Thomasville, Georgia. We were there for just about a year and decided to move back to the farm.

Surgery and blurred vision

I had a procedure called Novasure on December 30th. I had been having my cycle every 2 weeks for about 6 months. My Dr, Dr Julie Hughes kept attributing it to stress, but I was feeling like I wasn't that stressed with my life just the normal everyday stresses of having a family of 6. So, I finally went to see her and she first decided to do an endometrial biopsy to rule out any kind of cancer. Talk about hurting and uncomfortable. I waited a week and the results were negative which made me feel a lot better. She scheduled me for surgery December 30 at 1:15. The whole procedure only lasts for about 20 minutes in which the Dr burns the lining of your uterus. Hopefully this will prevent me from having a menstrual cycle again or atleast just a very light one. I have never had surgery before besides having my wisdom teeth out years ago so I was a little bit nervous. Luckily, my great husband took the day off to take me over to the Idaho Surgery Center in Caldwell. I love my doctor. She seems to know just what I need. I have been meaning to give her a picture of Cael and her that was taken right after he was born. It's only taken me a year and a half to get it to her.

They gave me a scopolamean(spell?)nausea patch that goes behind your ear and then gave me some verced in my iv to relax me. It took about 5 seconds to relax me and that is all I remember. The next thing I know I was in my recovery room very sleepy. Jared took me home and I was pretty crampy and in quite a bit of pain. He was great. He pampered me and did all he could to take care of me. On Saturday late afternoon I started having pretty bad blurred vision and it just kept getting worse. By Sunday I had severe blurred vision and was dizzy. I guess the side effects of the patch are blurred vision if it somehow gets in your eyes. I must have rubbed my head or something and got the patch on my pillow while I was sleeping. So for about 10 days I couldn't drive, text, write, etc. It was not much fun. Now I just have to wait to see if the surgery works.

Monday

Monday....What to say about Monday. Monday's are hard days for me..... Right after a lazy Sunday. Jared and Trenton left for Riggins on Friday after school. Trenton was more excited than he has been in awhile. I think his bag was packed for atleast 3 days. Jared picked him up from school and away they went. The girls and I just hung out at home on Friday and then we went to lunch and shopping in Nampa on Saturday. We had a good time. Jared and Trenton got home around 11:30pm on Saturday night. Jared shot a spike elk and boy was Trent excited...and tired. After Jared shot it, they skinned it and cut it up. Trenton was determined that he was going to carry a hind leg out. And sure enough he did. It was very rough terrain and steep. Jared had to lift up his pack for him because it was so heavy, but he walked atleast a half mile with it on his back. I am so glad Jared got to take him. It meant the world to Trenton.

The annual Primary Program was on Sunday and went well. All the kids read their parts really well. I invited our good friends, The Mclinns to come with us and am so glad they came. It really meant a lot to me. After church we came back to the house and had a yummy roast dinner. The rest of Sunday was spent visiting and relaxing. Later that evening Jared and the kids played football in the yard while I watered plants. All in all a very nice day.

I always have a hard time on Mondays. I usually don't eat the greatest over the weekend and then it is really hard to wake up at 5:00 am to go work out. So, I didn't this morning. Emma goes to Kindergarten every other day and it switches each week. So this week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday it will just be Cael and I. I have gotten so I really enjoy those weeks. It's kind of fun to just have him home. Although, he really doesn't know what to do in the house without the other kids.

Cael hasn't gotten obsessed with loaders and tractors. Tonight I sent him out with Trenton to go help Jared cut some firewood. They brought up a load of wood in the loader and when Trent and Jared were stacking it by the fence, Cael was just a crying wanting Jared to pick him up. Then when Jared brought him inside, Cael was just in a panic wanting to get back on the loader. Poor little guy. So Jared took him back out and got in the loader and Cael was in heaven. Jared is going to have a hard time getting out the door without his little buddy.

We have gotten out of the habit of having FHE and we decided we have got to start up again. So tonight was the first week back. Taiylor gave the lesson on Honesty and did such a great job. We have had a little bit of a problem with honesty with the kids so it was a good refresher for them.

I am working 3 days this week which I am not too excited about. Linda is having knee surgery so I am filling in for her. I just feel like I am so busy with the kids that it is getting harder and harder to work. Love those kids. They are growing up way too fast.

Barber to Boise 10k

So, I competed in my first race ever on October 15, 2011. I was really nervous. I guess just because of the unknown. I didn't want to look like a total dork out there. And of course I have no pictures to show for it. Jared was hunting and the kids were over at the McClinns. Emilee so graciously offered to watch them for me. I didn't eat much because I didn't want to make myself sick. The race started and I felt pretty good. I ran the whole distance without stopping and got a time of 58:07, which I am very happy with. I ran a 9:22 mile. I wanted to finish in under an hour. So woohoo for me. 6.2 miles seemed so far out of reach for me, so I am very glad I accomplished that goal. 6 months ago I thought that 6 miles was so far out of my reach. I started doing Crossfit with Jared down at the highschool gym and I really believe that is what really helped me out. My goal is to be able to do a half marathon this Summer with Jared.
